Announcing the appointment of a new First team ladies coach:
Wits Hockey is proud to announce the appointment of Pietie Coetzee as the new Wits first team Ladies coach for 2014.
Our next Summer League will be starting on Monday 16th September.
There will again be 8 teams per league and the league will run for 11 weeks ending on Thursday 28th November.
All games will be at Randburg and we will be playing as follows:
Monday evenings (18h30, 19h30, 20h30 and 21h30 games): mixed league on both fields
Tuesday evenings (18h30, 19h30, 20h30 and 21h30 games): Premier league, 1st league and 2nd league strength teams – one field ladies, one field men,
Thursday evenings (18h30, 19h30, 20h30 and 21h30 games): 3rd league & lower and schools teams – one field ladies, one field men,
The entry fee is R2750 per team.
We as the Southerns Hockey Community should all be horrified by the brutal gang rape, mutilation and murder of 17 year old Anene Booysen in Bredasdorp on Friday 1 February 2013.
Southern Gauteng Men and Ladies indoor trials will take place this Saturday, 09 February at the Wits Flower Hall:
Men from: 09:00-11:00
Ladies from 11:00-13:00.
The Indoor tournament takes place in Pietermaritzburg from 28 February – 02 March (travelling dates will be 27 February and 03 March).
Please bring a dark and white shirt with you.

THE South Africa men’s hockey team to take part in the Champions Challenge tournament from November 24 until December 2 in Quilmes, just outside Buenos Aires in Argentina was named Thursday.

The South African men’s and women’s U21 hockey teams will play Egypt at 4.30 pm and Ghana at 2 pm respectively at Randburg Hockey Stadium Saturday in the finals of the Africa Qualifier tournament for the 2013 Junior World Cup.
